I am a nurse, and breastfeeding mom of a 2 yr. old girl.

I used a LC for both my kids and am convinced there are 2 levels of
help required - those who need a bit of reassurance, technique, as well
as basics in knowledge ... and those that require lots of help due to
special problems ie. premies, medical conditions, etc.
I would love to get involved with lactation consulting. I live in a
very young neighborhood and am convinced there are lots of new moms that
could use a hand in these lean healthcare times. Perhaps this is LLL
ground? I am not sure how to build up the hours required to write the
LC exam... My work is in illness related in the community.

How did others qualify - work in maternal child health? I am enjoying
the education provided thru lactnet.

Thanks,Roxanne
