Also, validate the mother's wariness for soy based milk: about 15 % of
babies allergic to milk protein will also be allergic to soy milk,
which is an allergen in it's own right. The allergist following my
daughter (peanut allergy and eczema as a baby) told my that the next
baby, if not breastfed, should go on Nutramigen, but not on cow or soy
based formula. He was breastfed, I pumped (manually) at work for 9
months, had his first cow milk at 11 months (the miracle of frozen EBM)
and is still breasfeeding... anything but N !
