I e-mailed Norm ,one of the managers of listserv, and this is what he said:


"Last  night, LISTSERV had  a severe problem,  dying and automatically being
restarted over   and over again.   Apparently, as  part of that  crashing
problem, it sent out the LACTNET midnight digest multiple times (apparently
it was crashing in the middle of sending it, and when it came back up would
say, "oops, still haven't completed the LACTNET  digest, better do it").  I
wrote to Eric, who said  that it had to do with a particular  bug
interacting  with the daylight  savings  time change.  Apparently  no other
site has had this problem, which I guess is the  breaks.  Anyway he told me
what  to do to work around  it, I did it, and  it seems to be working fine.
However  the problem is  mostly  triggered by stuff  that typically happens
late at night, so we'll  see how things  go tonight.  This  is not the same
problem some subscribers were seeing at other times recently."
