Ibuprofen works because it takes care of the inflammation in the breast.
However, I just had a client whose mastitis always responded beautifully
to Ibuprofen, every one of them, every week of the past month...
Obviously to me, it was only calming down symptoms, so I gave
antibiotics. So far, so good...
But let us remember that the breast has allthe good components for
bacterial growth: inflammation, stasis of fluid... Though antibiotics can
have nasty side effects, such as yeast and resistance, they have a place
in our toolbox.
