Our St. Louis Task Force is proud to have as a member, an LC who was
instrumental (a few years ago) in getting our newly-born baby elephant to
breast after initially being rejected by his mother! The local CBS-TV
affiliate, KMOV, did a commentary on Baby Raja's first days, including our
LC's work, pumping Mother Pearl's breasts, and eventually getting the baby to
actually nurse. The video, available at the St. Louis Zoo, is about 30
minutes long. E-mail me privately if you would like address, etc. to get
video. I will also make LC's name & address available (after I get her
permission), if you want more details. She has a wonderful presentation on
Raja, as well as on her work with other mammals she's been asked to help
since then! She is also on a research team through Washington University Med
School here, looking at the impact of certain cow's milk proteins on infant
colic.

Carol (who is still waiting for answers to previous request for good videos
on bf for premies!)
