Re :Dorzolamide
Dorzolamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor used to reduce intraocular
pressure in glaucoma. We know that minimal plasma levels are attained in the
maternal circulation, but it is enough to occassionally produce side effects
in the patient even though it only used topically in the eye for glaucoma.
No data is available on breastfeeding, or even its oral bioavailability in the
infant, so I can't provide you much information. Its' structure is unique so
we can't compare it to many other compounds except that it is a
sulfonamide-like structure. So I'm sorry I can't provide you any good data.
