laura, i have my moms who drink more than 1 serving of alcohol per day to
express after a binge ie.2+ drinks or wedding reception to express milk
into "open container" and store in fridge for 24 hours and due to the
extreme volatility (evaporation) of alcohol this is more than enough time
for the alcohol to evaporate. I can't remember who stated it maybe ilca
conf atlanta 94??? that the alcohol enters breastmilk rapidly due to high
plasma levels but as the plasma or blood alcohol levels drop there is a
chemical shift of alcohol from breast milk back to the circulation/plasma
just as quickly....i tell parents it's the quickest acting drug you can use
but also the shortest (almost) acting. I don't base this on research just
organic chemistry and biology....ever tried to "save" a frozen daquiri ????
pump and dump ? never! they work to hard for that stuff.....
i have spanish and french friends abroad who by tradition have
daily wine or beer even pregnant and or breastfeeding and i have not seen
alcohol syndrome in their children, wonder why their countries are not full
of impaired children, in fact i find quite the opposite. be well, ruthy rn
