Hi Jay,

Hope that baby arrives soon!

The Northern California Breastfeeding Coalition (made up of five counties in
N. CA) is currently working on something just like this. What we have done
is come up with a cascade format list that has several categories including
breastfeeding specialists (LCs, LLL, WIC, etc.), pump rental stations, doula
and childbirth educators known to be BF friendly, and some other stuff. We
are currently working on how we are going to pay for printing (we're hoping
for donations to cover the cost--this is not a solicitation here!). We hope
to be able to print enough to give out to each hcp's office in the five
counties.

While this has been a big project, it is by no means impossible. The members
of the coalition simply sat down and came up with a list of people we could
think of to be included. We then verified the information, got permission to
include people and came up with a draft. The hardest part is the funding. We
are hoping that in future years, after the public is more familiar with our
resource guide, that people will call to be included so as to expand the
guide even further.

We are very excited about the resource guide and hope it provides a needed
service to breastfeeding families in N.CA. Anyone who would like more
information, feel free to email me.
