Need info from anyone on Oxytocin Nasal Spray. Friend of Mine is the med.
director for an HMO and asked me if this was considered a standard of care.
Apparently the pharmacist who got the compounding directions told the hmo
case manager the cost would be $300.00 to make up ?????? My answer was no I
didn't think it was a "standard of care" but perhaps the mom needed a consult
to see if something else could be done to help her. I don't know at this
point if the mom had seen an lc or if this was prescribed by a doc on his or
her own. any info would be helpful. What about that cost?? does this sound
right to anyone? has anyone had success with its use? I tend to think
something else can be done to help with let down( relaxation tapes, not
worrying so much about production levels etc...) and supply. Any relevent
articles would be helpful for this Doctor.
