Laura Wham mentioned the replacement of the contents of formula gift packs
given out at hospitals. I would like to say that I don't find any
replacement acceptable if the packaging still carries company logos.
Whatever is in the pack, hospitals and mothers are being sucked into doing
some of these companies' marketing for them. Every time a mother takes out
her package of baby wipes (or whatever it is) in public, she is the bearer of
a subtle message. These companies do not give gifts for the sole pleasure of
giving. I never thought I was so cynical, but let's not allow them to use
us.
