Just my thoughts here: I have been an active LLL Leader for 12 and 1/2
years. I have breastfed five children. I have read every book I could get
my hands on about breastfeeding, attended as many conferences as I could
afford, and helped countless mothers and babies throughout the years. I have
no formal degrees, no initials after my name. I still have a couple of
years of lay counceling before I qualify to sit the exam. A person who has
never had children, much less breastfed one, can sit the exam with a four
year degree in engineering. Who would you rather have help you with a
breastfeeding problem?
