>>Do any others of you get weird looks or made to feel like a pervert
>>when you tell them what you do?<<
Okay, friends, I can no longer resist. I can't even begin to tell
you how even weirder it is to be unmarried, and beginning to date,
and try to explain to someone you've never met what you do for a
living!!!
Yes, dears, it happened to me. I met a gentleman for coffee one
Saturday morning. I told him what I do for a living and braced
myself. He has 3 grown children and launched into a story about how
wonderful breastfeeding is and his ex-wife never had any problems and
aren't I some sort of saint or something.
Well he should have left the story at that, but no, he has to go on
and describe how his wife never had a problem with breastfeeding -
well, except for the last one. He said, "With the third child, she
was SO engorged, and she wouldn't let me have the excess milk!"
I put on my very best empathetic face, pulled deeply from my
resources and said, "That must have been very distressing for you."
P.S. I decided I didn't need a date that badly.
