Jane, Positioning is a consideration, but I would recommend eliminating all
dairy products, as dairy is often implicated in ear infections. Dairy would
need to be eliminated in the thrush treatment anyway. I find that I need to
specify what I mean by dairy: milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, and margarine
that is made with milk.

Was this baby "colicky"? Is he "fussy" and wanting to feed often?

BTW, if she used dairy products with her first two children with no ear
infections, it doesn't mean that it is not the cause this time. There are
many reasons that this child could be sensitive to bovine milk protein.

(If any of you took note of the ages of my daughters in my two posts today
you may notice that Alison, who was 24 in "lactoferrin" instantly became 26
in "long-term effects." She is, in fact, 24. I'm glad I can put your minds
at ease.)
