Is it against the policy to bring the child into the library only or the
entire university? It seems like there must be a place somewhere on the
campus where children can be and where mom can breastfeed. Is it a
university hospital? If so, are there any waiting areas, empty classrooms,
etc. This seems so ridiculous; after all, her lunch time is her time. I
can't help but wonder if the supervisor is biased against breastfeeding.
Definitely find that policy!!!! At my workplace, I have seen several nurses
and office personnel breastfeeding their babies or meeting with their
children on their breaks/lunches, etc. In fact, just last week a nurse's
husband and child came to have lunch with her on her break and they lunched
in the unit's team report room. When I worked evening shift years ago, a
fellow nurse's husband brought the baby in for her to nurse during her
break. She nursed in the employee lounge.
