In reguards to Nancy Sherwood's post about on-site daycares, my LLL co-leader
in Racine, Wisconsin works for SC Johnson Wax. They have a daycare facility
that is considered very good, on-site, separate areas for sick kids, access
by parents whenever needed, adequate staff, but this is not a benefit.
Parents have to pay the going daycare rate here for this service. So many
workers choose to leave their children home with other family members for
monetary reasons. The idea of onsite daycare is great for working parents,
but not when it becomes an overwhelming expense.
