Dear Netters,

I've seen quite a few women break out in hives soon after giving birth. These women
are not usually allergic and have not received meds during labor. The itching is
usually on the arms and sometimes legs. I've questioned drs and have not gotten
a satisfactory answer. Today a former client called (no longer bf - baby is 18
months) and said she has been breaking out in hives every month before her period
since weaning. There have been too many cases for this to be a coincidence.
I know that stress can cause hives. Is the PMS/stress of labor responsible for the
hives or could it be linked to hormones?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much! Susan in Ranana
Israel.
