Thought you all might like to read the responses to a very negative
statement about breastfeeding which appeared in a reader comment section of
our local newspaper, the Austin American-Statesman. A man had written in
last week to say that it was disgusting when women "whip out a breast to
breastfeed in public." Today there were 3 totally unabashed, unapologetic
and rather delightfully tart responses which I'll quote in full:

"To the person mad about a woman breastfeeding in public: The reason we
have breasts is to breastfeed. That is their purpose.'

"To all you perverts who rant about public breastfeeding: Motherhood is the
most blessed occupation on earth. You should all kneel in respect to
pregnant women and mothers."

" Keep your eyes to yourself. I'm not breastfeeding for your benefit.
Don't be bitter because your mother didn't breastfeed you."
