It's apparently OK to patronize Taco Bell again -- they have cancelled their
sponsorship of Dana Carvey's show. In today's paper, there's an AP story
that reads in part:
"Taco Bell has quit as sponsor of Dana Carvey's new comedy show because the
premiere episode was just too spicy. Pizza Hut, like Taco Bell a unit of
Pepsico Inc., also withdrew as sponsor of the former "Saturday Night Live"
star's sketch comedy show after its Tuesday night debut on ABC as "The Taco
Bell Dana Carvey Show."
"We think Dana Carvey is without a doubt one of the country's funniest
comedians," said Taco Bell spokeswoman Amy Sherwood. "But we're in the
business of selling tacos and burritos, not offending people."
Carvey opened his show with an impression of a caring, nurturing, and
"estrogen-enhanced" President Clinton breastfeeding from several nipples."
Glad to know I don't have to feel guilty for eating 4-alarm double-decker
tacos any more! ;)
