An item headlined CHILD SUFFOCATES BETWEEN PARENTS appeared in the
Bergen County Record (my local NJ paper) today: "No charges witll be filed
against the parents of a 2 week old girl accidentally smothered by the couple
as they slept in their bed, Middlesex County authorities said.
"Breanna S. of Woodbridge was pronounced dead Monday after (the
parents) awoke to find she had stopped breathing, Prosecutor Robert W. Gluck
said Wednesday.
"After an early morning feeding failed to quiet the crying child, the
couple put the baby between them in bed to comfort her".
Does anyone have any more details about this. I have been actively
promoting co-sleeping against the philosophy of many of the pediatricians in
my area. This incident will fuel their stand. Please send comments to my
e-mail address. Thank you.
