While doing followup phone calls on Sunday to all the moms with 3 day old
babies, I had two interesting conversations. Both moms had experienced babies
who were wanting to nurse and nurse, and both were tired and decided that baby
needed a bottle of supplement. Both sent Dad out to buy some formula. Neither
had gotten a formula pack from the hospital. Both Dads came back and said that
formula costs $10 a can, and they didn't think they wanted to get started on
that stuff. And by Sunday afternoon, both moms had their milk in and babies
were fine. So hurray for no formula packs to get them started in a moment of
exhaustion!
