It is important to remember that many women never report sensations of
letdown. To infer to new mothers/pregnant moms that they will feel
something indicative of this is akin to misinformation--unless you also
identify the many different ways in which a letdown might be indicated.
Tingling sensations appear to be less likely than other sensations. In my
experience, women who are on the heavy side and multips are far less likely
than very slim women and primips to report that tingling sensation. Other
reactions may be a heightened sense of body temp at the breasts, sense of
relaxation/sleepiness, and--of course--an obvious change in the baby's
suckling pattern.

Tingling does not always present itself. To suggest that it will nearly
always be there is not helpful in many cases and may provoke unnecessary
anxiety.

Def. of LC service: "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
