Pam,
I used to think I was the only one who would experience "phantom" let-downs,
even after my youngest had weaned 9 yrs. ago.  I noticed it most on busy days
with many moms and babies, or at the ILCA or LLL conferences!!  Anyway, I
posed the question to Dr. Ed Newton who stated that most mothers continue to
feel MERs for years after weaning, since prolactin levels are still such that
MERs may be brought on my certain stimuli.  Knowing that I "suffered" from
over-production (could hand express 8 oz in 5 mins!, and was nursing an
active toddler and donating 20+ oz of EBM per day to the local milk bank) and
suspect that my prolactin levels were pretty high, I attribute continued
let-down tingling to that.
