Excuse my ignorance, but I've always been taught that the function of the
kidneys was to filter the blood and remove impurities, poisons, toxins, and
other un-needed things to maintain proper electrolyte balance in the blood.
How could it possibly help the body to ingest these substances and send them
through the digestive system????
