Having got to an age where "power surges" sound a whole lot nicer than hot
flashes, I have to confess, I STILL HAVE PROLACTIN SURGES. (not shouting,
simply raising my voice slightly)
They are triggered by babies who look/act very much like my son did at the
same age, and/or when babies cuddle right into my shoulder, and/or when
they try to root if I am demonstrating something, etc. etc.
I did not have an oversupply, except shortly after birth, when I could have
fed quads with no problems. (In two days, using the bulb syringe "nipple
killer" pump, I obtained 1 quart of milk--Doug was in hospital with
jaundice, under bili lights. [Forgive me, but this was 1970 and I didn't
know then what I know now.]
I suspect I am simply more sensitive to certain "stimuli" and/or more aware
of my body responses...
Def. of LC service: "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
