Melissa,
I am on a roll today. Lactnet-- faxing, mailing inbetween trying to pack
for Africa. Not to mention our sump pump in our basement shut down last
night in the thunderstorms and we were up all night mopping up water in the
carpet, finished basement. O'well, life goes on. I have faxed info to you
Melissa on hospital LC program and I receive back "error report, remote busy"
I will try later if you want me to.
Someone asked "who does the testing on Medela's products?" Good or bad, I
do. I really feel and felt over 10 years ago when I began consulting (as an
LC) with Medela that all products should be tested well in the field before
they go to market, so guess what I get to do. It actually is quit fun and I
have learned alot from it. Yes, testing the hands-free pumping kit was at
first humorous. I have to admit when I use to pump, I would think "would it
ever be nice if you could somehow pump without using your hands". The people
that I did testing with were a mixture of working mothers, premie baby
mothers and at home mothers. I was amazed at how creative some of these
mothers were at figuring out how to adjust the bottles against a table, desk,
etc. and pump without their hands. The problem was that it would become
uncomfortable, spill the milk, etc. Most of them said " I get so tired of
holding these bottles against the breast". So bingo, now there is a choice
to pump with hands or pump without hands. Anyone that is interested in
reading more about the pumping-free kit can contact Medela at 1-800-435-8316
or (815)363-1166 and ask for the newest Rental Roundup Publication (Spring,
1996, Vol 13, #2). It has several articles writen about it and the bra.
If I do not finish packing now, I will never make it to Africa.
Thanks all that have e-mailed me about Africa. It has been wonderful!!!
Talk to you all July 1.
