It is only anecdotal but I have read a letter from a mum with a
similarly addicted baby who found that her baby latched on without a
shield after she had gone swimming - it seemed as if her baby had become
used to the smell of the sterilising solution - not that I would suggest
that the mum put sterilising solution on her nipples!
