Kathleen:  You said that there has been no research of an association
between sexual abuse and breastfeeding.  I haven't read this article, but
check out an article in Archives of Family Medicine (1995;4:650-652), by
a Dr. Louise Acheson.  In a review of medical records from 724
pregnancies, she found that women who did not breastfeed were 38 times
more likely to have been battered or sexually abused, or have children who
