apparently there have been several studies indicating that some level of
jaundice is desireable due to the free radical scavenging affect of
bilirubin. I'll dig out the reference(s) if anyone is interested.
There is also some evidence that phototherapy can be destructive to color
vision later in life- particularly when it is a 24 hr/day exposure. I like
moderate levels of sunshine myself.
