LLL mom of a 3 yo nursing (quite a lot of nursing, I am told) child has a UTI
and has an Rx for Macrobid.  I'm unable to find it in Dr. Hale's latest edition.

Does anyone have any info. on this?  The pharmacist told the LLLL that it was
given to pregnant patients, but Dr. Hale's postings have made me cautious about
depending on that as an indication of safety for breastfeeding..

Mom's cultures will not be in until Saturday, but MD gave this prescription now.
Mom didn't ask about nursing safety "Because she didn't think he'd know,
anyways." (Probably a little concerned about the criticism if admitting to
breastfeeding an "older" child.)

Any suggestions on alternatives which DO have reports done?
