An article in the January issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association reports on
the relationship between intake of cruciferous vegetables, onion, chocolate and cows milk to
colic symptoms. It seems that with intake of more than one cruciferous vegetable the risk
ratio of colick symptoms was 1.6 (1.1-2.4 CI). The article acknowledges several limitations,
but supports the notion of trial elmination of foods which might contribute to colic. Sorry, but
chocolate is one!
