One additional thought for you: I would try two more things, together. First,
have mom stimulate her MER. Then, have her lie down supine and put baby on
top, and have baby latch on from "above" the breast. Having the milk flow
uphill may slow that "pour down your throat" syndrome that baby might be
reacting to with her gag reflex. Baby can be in a variety of places---
straight down, paralleling mom's body, coming from over mom's shoulder,
kneeling below mom's armpit and stretching over to the breast, body "across",
coming from one side and attaching to the other breast...... whatever she
prefers and can handle!
