Judy:
your post re the woman who says that her breasts "belong" to her
husband....from this mornings local paper...
"a survey of 11-14 yr olds. showed 51% of the boys and 41% of the girls
said that forced sex was acceptable if the boy 'spent a lot of money' on the
girl. the same survey showed 87% of the boys and 79% of the girls sais sexual
assault wa acceptable if the man and woman were married, plus 65% of the boys
and 47% of the girls said it was acceptable if a boy and girl had been dating
for more than six months.
a study of male college students recealed 35% anonymously admitted that
unfer certian circumstances tye could commit rape if they could get away with
it. other numbers: on in 12 admitted to commining acts that met legal
definition of rape, and 84% of the men who committed rape did not label it as
rape.
a second survey of college males found 43% who acknowledged using
coercive behaior to have sex, including ignoring a woman's protest and using
physical force. fifteen percent cenceeded they had committed acquentaince
rape.
there was a recent collection of letters in dear abby re: cuddling and
hugging and mens take....many of whom felt that they needed a "return" for
their investment....
on reflection of this it is the "old boys attitude" through and through
and no one gets up and SCREAMS this is not acceptable.
there was the incident in Japan... the c.o.' s comment was for what they
spent renting the car they could have bought the sex.....
- this is a core piece that need adressing before we can move forward....
