Dear Subscribers of Lactnet,
My name is Joanne Burke Snyder. In July of 1995 I moved from Los Angeles to
Indianola, Iowa. I wear two separate lactation hats. My professional hat:
MA, CLE, IBCLC. I have a master of arts degree in human development with a
specialization in lactation consulting from Pacific Oaks College (Pasadena,
Ca.)in conjunction with The Lactation Institute and Breastfeeding Clinic
(Encino,Ca.). I was a staff lactation consulant and clinical faculty at the
Lactation Institute for 3 1/2 years. Here in Indianola, I have opened up a
private practice just last month, in April. The name of my business is
Latch-On Services. I sit on the Iowa Lactation Task Force (State level) and
Polk County Breastfeeding Committee (a subcommitee of Healthy Polk 2000 -
County level). My volunteer hat: I was accredited as a LLL Leader in
N.Y.S. East in 1985 and moved to Los Angeles. My group there was the Echo
Park group later changed in name to Hollywood/Silverlake. My last year
there my co-Leader and I ran a Downtowm group at St. Anne's part of a county
pregnant minor program. In L.A. I held the LLL area jobs of AACL and ACL of
Southern California/Nevada. I am still an active Leader without a group in
Iowa, presently serving as Area Professional Liasion of Iowa.
I am very excited to be on Lactnet. Thank you for making it possible.
Joanne
