A mother called me who is interested in taking an herbal combination that is
marketed for natural "thermogenic weight management". She is also thinking
of selling this product, but didn't want to unless she could say that she
takes it herself. Her baby is 6 months old. I don't know anything about
herbs, so I would appreciate it very much if someone who is knowledgable
about herbs could let me know if these are OK and what would be the effect on
her breastfeeding baby. I thought if the effect was to suppress her
appetite, would it have the same effect on the baby? The herbs listed are:
Bladderwrack, Goldenrod Leaf, Parsley Leaf, Uva Ursi Leaf, Epitonin Herb
(Ephedra Sinica), Corn Silk Pistils, Hawthorn Berries, Fumitory Herb, Cascara
Sagrada Bark, Licorice Root, Marshmallow Root, Apple Pectin, and Chromium
Picolinate.
