This is in response to some of the queries and misinformation concerning
Medela products. I work for a non-profit that manages the WIC program in
Philadelphia and operate their pump rental station. Our organization is
lucky to have built an honest relationship with our area Medela rep and I
suppose we're lucky to have access to product information. Lactnet provides
exciting clinical information opportunities and I'm fortunate to be able to
share with our breastfeeding department many of the posts. We've endured
much in the way of bashing from some zealots who view WIC as the 'enemy' or
consider BF promotion from WIC as a double signal or just lip service. It's
amazing how far misinformation can spread. I would suggest that those who
may have questions about Medela product contact the company, get the specs
and follow through before bashing. Helping a mother to breastfeed is a team
effort, and built on trust. Thank you for all of the input!
