What kind of tan do you mean?  How is anyone going to get a natural tan
in the Midwest in winter?  Normal tanning is not good for the skin -
increases the risk of skin cancer and prematurely aged skin.  Tanning
with chemicals is probably not great for mom either. aside from any
effects on the baby.  It sounds like this mom is trying to get back to
"normal".  I think she needs a bunch of support and a mothering peer
group.  Is there LLL around or another parenting support group?
