Hi all -
I am in need of written BFing info for a mom/family that Arly and I have
worked with. She is Korean, and while she speaks English seemingly well, it
seems as though she's missing the "big picture." At 2+ weeks, this baby
hasn't gained anything, and actually looks to be wasting away. He's very
fussy. I took a Korean nurse with me to a home consult, but it seems as
though this sweet mom is still missing some important cues. The baby gulped
at breast for a few minutes, but swallowing soon stopped and baby came off,
fussing. He had an additional 3 oz. formula after nursing, and then settled
down. Mom too quickly refers to him as being "fussy" and "difficult." I
really think he's just plain hungry. I wrote down feeding info, and asked
her to count wet/dirty diapers. Unfortunately, she still thinks that he's
constipated cause he's not pooping much. I think he just isn't getting
enough food.
Is there something out there in her native language (general baby info would
be great too) that I can get ahold of FAST? Thanks!
Janet
