Was born & raised in San Joaquin Valley & lived in Phoenix for 4 years, so
have some background knowledge of Valley fever.

It is my understanding that Valley Fever is an airborne illness contracted
through the respiratory tract, so I don't see how it could be contracted
through breastmilk. I've never heard of any contraindication with lactation.

A quick perusal of standard lactation texts didn't show any mention of valley
fever (also checked under proper terminology, and fungal infections). I
would check with LLLI. You can call a local Leader and ask her to check
with the local Areap Profession Liaison Leader. Tell them what resources
you've already researched. (Lawrence nor Riordan & Auerbach had it listed in
index). If they don't have anything in files they can send it up through
channels. Let them know if the threat of weaning is involved.
