We had a couple of Cardigan Welsh Corgis ten years ago.  Eventually we had to
place one of them with a friend's family because they began to fight.  The
dog was spayed, had never been pregnant, but when the family cat had a litter
of kttens, she helped "feed" them.  My friend sent a charming picture of
Katie "nursing" several fuzzy little kittens.

If I had known then what I know now, I might have suggested an SNS. <g>
