Last year, I sent holiday cards to all my '94 clients just because I
thought it would be a nice thing to do. I was repaid in an unexpected
way. In selecting the right card for each client (Boy? Girl?), I
found myself picturing the family together, with the baby older now and
maybe enjoying the lights, learning to walk, smiling. I could picture
those families that hadn't continued breastfeeding still enjoying
parenthood, still having a good relationship with the baby. Those cards
gave me a degree of closure *I* (who lie awake at night fretting over
clients) really needed.
I'm shopping around for postcards this year, in a search for cheaper
closure...
