Well Netters, it has finally happened to me. One of the devout Ezzo moms
called me today with, guess what, a breat infection! I advised her to nurse
on that side at every feed which is also what the family practice doctor
told her. I could not however bring myself to say that the reason for the
infection in the first place was due to inadequate emptying of the breasts.
She nurses only every 3-31/4 hours for 10 min on each side. Even if baby is
still actively suck/swallowing, she terminates the feeding after 20 min.
The reason I couldn't tell her that she wasn't nursing enough was that I am
afraid that if a problem is detected with breastfeeding, she will switch to
ABM and continue to raise her child "God's way". At least if I am not
confrontational about it, she will continue to nurse for a little longer.
Is this silly reasoning? Love to hear what you all have to say. BTW, this
mom is a very good friend of mine.

Sincerely,
