At the risk of wearing out my welcome on this topic....

Please be aware that the authors would say that adults who are
self-disciplined *will* confine themselves to three meals and be orderly
about this (that's a big theme). I haven't read the newer edition, but in
the former curriculum for Toddlers, they mandated 3 meals with one extra
liquid. I believe that starts at around 12 months.

They would never concede that this is starving infants. Rather they say that
this creates an infant who will do better at breast, thereby taking in *more*
calories, not less. This idea is all built around their concept that babies
are born in "metabolic chaos" and a good parent will schedule them to
lovingly correct this unstable state.

The followers of this stuff are so brainwashed (IMHO only) that for us to
march in there with all of our expertise and tell them they are wrong will
get us nowhere. I hope that those who are working with these parents (and
remember they aren't likely to seek us out) will try to understand the
program so that you can address the problems in a way that will be received.

I'll be quiet now....

Nancy
