I finally figured out enough about how to use AOL so I could join Lactnet
yesterday. Glad to be aboard.
I'm an IBCLC in private practice--sole practitioner--in a northwestern suburb
of Washington, DC. Have been in practice since 1989 and am trying to
rejuvenate my practice after a number of months off while I took care of
family needs. I sent out 60 letters to PDs and OBGs last week, but I have
more competition now than before so I feel a little like I'm sitting on pins
and needles at the moment. Let's just hope that I'm not let-down by my
efforts to start up again. (I know it's a terrible pun.)
I have a particular interest in overabundant milk supply and am in process of
writing a series of commentaries on subject for JHL. Would love to hear from
you, particular with regard to the concept of a mother having an overactive
MER in absence of oversupply. This is something I have not observed but have
seen many women with rapid, forceful MER who do have oversupply.
In a former life, I was a research assistant at National Institutes of Health
and have BS in medical technology. I'm a registered medical technologist
[MT(ASCP)] and am fascinated by breastmilk composition and immunological
aspects.
Look forward to your mail!
