Pat:  You are so right that breastfeeding "education" by formula
companies has no place in true breastfeeding promotion.  Although most
formula companies are much more subtle in their discouragement of
breastfeeding than previously, I have a good example of complete
misinformation:  for all of us who know that the AAP recommends breast
milk for 12 months with solids added at about 6 months, just check
out the Ross Welcome Addition Club brochure.  It states "During your
baby's first year, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends -
