My neighbor lent me her December 1995 Natural History magazine and the author
of the article Natural-born Mothers, Sarah Blaffer Hrdy, says on p.
30;"Mother mammals are alchemists able to transform available fodder - grass,
insects, even toxic leaves - into biological while gold."
I haven't eaten many insects lately; I did eat alfalfa sprouts a few days ago
(and I always thought when I was bfg my children that they acted like a
galactogogue). But I loved that "biological white gold."
