Dr. Chen Chao-Huei:

The 91 "red book" - report of the committtee oon infectious diseases"
says:

non genital warts are acquired throught minor trauma to the
skin.

HPV are thought to be transmitted from person to person by close
contact.

lagyngeal papillomas are are believed to be transmitted through
aspiration of infectious secretions during passage through the infected birth
canal....

this would seem to indicate that CLOSE contact with infection is
necessary for transmission. If mom is "careful" after removal when the
viral rate may be high ....

       hope this helps.....
