Jon:

obviously you are the exceptional patient....

most patients when told something by someone wearing a lab coat blindly do
what they are told...we are a people of blind obedience...this has been a
major card used by the artificial infant food companies...they send in people
with lab coats to distribute theier product and the belief by the receiver is
that the product is sanctioned by the hospital/medical .....

the belief that the medical " man" is all knowing really can be traced
back.

how many woman call lc's with problems of engorgement secondary to being
placed on an antibiotic and told that it will harm the infant? how many of
these woman question the doctor? how many times are woman told "what to do"
by the person who answered the phone at the doctors office with out even
knowing who they are talking to?

I saw a young mother recently who was told immediately post partum that
her areola were too small for her to be able to breastfeed....she was not
sure and so called me...

We have come a long way from standing up for what we believe, for what we
percieve as important and then being willing to be responsible for our
decisions...

  - off my soap box -
