I smell the same rat Jan mentioned...We had a childbirth educators' =
meeting at hospital recently and the udder stuff representative was
present to discuss new products including Boost adult formula.I asked =
him so many questions that when he said the following I forgot to ask =
where that study came from:
breastfeeding rates have actually been shown to increase and duration is =
longer when our handouts were distributed prenatally-"an independent =
group unrelated to the industry studied this"....
Has anyone heard something along these lines or knows of a study as =
mentioned,or will anyone be having contact with rep.soon to ask the =
question:"WHERE did such a study come from and what is the =
reference....?"
I just read my evaluations from a 2 part weekend childbirth series I =
taught. The worst comment:"Instructor is not objective about =
bottlefeeding and breastfeeding."
I hope that is my greatest fault in this lifetime. Don't the facts =
regarding HM and artificial feedings speak for themselves as =
well, provided the facts are covered in their entirety. =

To date no one has ever complained that I presented "too much" bf =
info.in my prepared childbirth classes.
Best to all,
