As I understand it from reading several nutritional info resources:
Diet should be fruit, sugar and yeast free because Candida thrives on
them. Eat lots of raw vegetables, keep the carbohydrates low. Eat
yogurt with the LIVE acidophilus cultures in it. (yogurt with these
cultures can also be used topically for some relief)
Acidophilus should also be taken as a supplement, it comes in a powder
form and can be purchased at a health food store. Make sure to get
LIVE acidophilus and keep it cold. Take as directed.
There are a lot of dietary changes that should help. A very good
resource is a book called
"The Yeast Connection"
There is also a related cookbook but I can't remember the name right now, it is
listed in this first book. The dietary changes always seem so much
more difficult than just taking a medication, but they will give long
term relief by restoring the proper bacterial/yeast balance within
the body.
