Alicia:  I agree that mothers probably don't consciously feel much about the
connection between formula companies and surveys.  But what about
subconsciously?

Perhaps the companies feel that they gain credibility by doing things like this
-  but certainly they will have a profit motive.  I am sure that they hope that
their sales will increase.  If a mother they have contacted has breastfeeding
problems a month or 2 down the line, perhaps she will remember and choose their
product over the rest?

I am sure that you don't allow yourself to be influenced  -  I would love to
believe that of all other health professionals, and I certainly don't believe it
of myself.  All I can do is remember that the companies have one aim - to make
money  -  and try to see everything they do in that light.  Cynical?   You
bet!!!
